The Industrial Engineering Internship Program is targeted at college engineering students designed to expose you to the high technology, fast-paced world of aviation manufacturing with challenging assignments in the many disciplines of Manufacturing which include part manufacturing, assembly, and specialties such as Coating, Welding, Forging, and Machining. Development occurs with Pratt & Whitney Industrial Engineering training, data collection and improvement projects as well day to day assignments. At the conclusion of the internship, students will be presenting their results to high level managers and executives as part of their progression development in becoming a full-time Industrial Engineer.

Available internship positions are in the following locations East Hartford or Middletown CT, North Berwick ME, Asheville NC, Columbus GA, and Lansing MI.

What You Will Do

Evaluate operations and identify improvement opportunities, utilizing data analysis and metrics. Review and analyze work cell layout, process flow, material flow, to establish standard work. Conduct labor and machine capacity analysis to identify improvements.

Maintain and update time standards for established operations. What You Will Learn Application of Manufacturing Standard work Cell Design Application of Lean principles Kaizen, 5S, SMED Power BI Qualifications You Must Have Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program at the time of the assignment. Eligible majors include Industrial and System Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.

Qualifications

We Prefer Minimum 3.0 GPA Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes. Data mining & manipulation experience with Excel, VBA, SQL, other methods. Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

This position is classified as: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. *As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.* The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
