# Intern, Retail Merchandise## •### @goclingstones Posted on 1/27/2026 • Intern## Job Description Department: Retail & Merchandising * * Reports To: Retail Operations Manager Duration: Seasonal (Spring) Compensation: Paid hourly * * Position Summary: The Merchandise / Retail Store Intern supports the daily operations of the Columbus Clingstones Team Store and game-day retail activations throughout the ballpark. This role provides hands-on experience in sports retail management, inventory control, customer service, and merchandising strategy within a professional baseball environment. * * Key Responsibilities: Assist with daily operations of the Clingstones Team Store, including opening and closing procedures * Provide exceptional customer service to fans and guests * Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately and efficiently * Assist with merchandise displays, visual merchandising, and product replenishment * Support inventory management, including receiving shipments, stock organization, counts, and shrink control * Assist with pricing, tagging, and product placement for new merchandise launches * Support game-day retail operations at satellite merchandise stands throughout the ballpark * Assist with e-commerce order fulfillment, packaging, and shipping (if applicable) * Support special promotions, theme-night merchandise, and limited-edition product drops * Help track sales data and assist with post-game or post-event reporting Learning Opportunities: Exposure to retail operations within professional sports * Hands-on experience with inventory management and POS systems * Understanding of merchandise planning tied to promotions and fan demographics * Customer service and sales best practices * Insight into vendor relationships and product lifecycle management * * Preferred Qualifications: Interest in retail management, sports business, marketing, or merchandising * Strong customer service and communication skills * Attention to detail and accuracy in transaction handling * Ability to work nights, weekends, and game days * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment Physical & Work Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods * Ability to lift and move merchandise boxes (up to 40 lbs) * Willingness to work in varying temperatures within the ballpark We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
