About the role
This 12-week internship program runs from May 18th to August 7th, 2026. You will train in basic laboratory testing techniques and join a department focused on Medical Device testing. You will work under the guidance of a supervisor and a dedicated mentor. The program includes weekly lunch and learn sessions covering scientific testing, business operations, and leadership skills, alongside team-building activities.
What you'll do
- Perform lab procedures including plate counts, Gram stains, plate streaking, aseptic technique, and daily standardization.
- Ensure testing follows approved procedures and regulatory requirements like GMP, GLP, and ISO.
- Record all data accurately and concurrently.
- Collaborate on quality events such as unexpected results or deviations.
- Notify the Study Director of any unforeseen events during testing.
- Deliver a final presentation summarizing your learning and experience.
What you'll need
- Current enrollment as a college student majoring in a life science, such as Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment while wearing required personal protective equipment.
- Capacity to lift or move up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to stand and traverse for 75% of the workday.
Location & details
- Location: Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, with start times between 7AM and 9AM.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
