About the role

This is a part-time, paid, year-round internship based at our San Diego facility. You will work on-site 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8am and 5pm. This role provides hands-on experience in pharmaceutical chemistry development, including exposure to formulation processes like tableting, solutions, suspensions, encapsulation, and spray drying. You will also learn analytical techniques to characterize active pharmaceutical ingredients.

What you'll do

  • Clean laboratory glassware and supplies.
  • Maintain designated laboratory equipment and order supplies.
  • Prepare buffers and laboratory reagents.
  • Document experiments in a laboratory notebook.
  • Assist with experiments under the supervision of a pharmaceutical chemist or quality control analyst.
  • Perform routine experiments independently when qualified.
  • Ensure all work complies with GMP practices and standard operating procedures.

What you'll need

  • Current enrollment as a full-time college student, at least in your second year.
  • A major in life sciences, preferably Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology with a focus in Chemistry.
  • Completion of upper division chemistry coursework is preferred.
  • Prior experience in chemistry and lab techniques is strongly recommended.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks like standing, reaching, and crouching.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well within a team.

  • Location: San Diego, California.
  • Work Modality: 100% on-site.
  • Pay: $20 per hour.
  • Note: This position does not offer housing assistance or relocation support. Bachelor degree graduates are not eligible for this internship.
