Job Description Oregon’s nonpartisan Legislative Policy and Research Office (LPRO) seeks a highly motivated student to serve as a legislative analyst intern during the 2027 legislative session. Graduate students studying public policy, law, or a related field who are eager to learn about Oregon’s legislative process are encouraged to apply. The internship will focus on one of the following policy areas: Housing, homelessness, housing development, land use, and zoning Maternal and child health Public health, specifically substance use disorder prevention About the opportunity The internship begins on January 4, 2027, and ends at the conclusion of the 2027 legislative session (usually near the end of June).

The intern is expected to work approximately 30 hours per week in Salem. The work assigned to the intern will offer learning in committee organization and administration, bill management, research, communication, and other projects. The intern will work collaboratively with colleagues and be assigned a mentor who will provide professional growth and networking opportunities.

About the office LPRO’s mission is to provide professional, nonpartisan staffing, analysis, and research that support and inform the policy making process. Minimum
