Program Structure

This is the entry point into De Anda Capital's training pipeline we use to develop our own acquisition leaders from the ground up. You will work directly with senior leadership on live transactions from day one: sourcing, diligence, financial modeling, and portfolio company value creation. This training phase is unpaid, and we are transparent about that up front. In exchange, you get direct exposure to how an independent sponsor operates — not case studies, not simulations. High performers are brought onto the team in a paid capacity, with scope and compensation tied to demonstrated ownership of real deal and portfolio work. Within roughly 6–12 months, a successful candidate should be capable of managing a team, leading an acquisition, managing an operating asset, and taking responsibility for investor capital. This role is best suited for candidates who want to buy and operate businesses — not advise on them from the outside.

About Us

De Anda Capital is an independent sponsor executing a buy-and-build strategy, currently focused on acquiring and consolidating property management companies. We source, diligence, and close acquisitions directly, then take an active operating role in the businesses we buy — building value through hands-on management, not passive ownership. We are a lean, principal-led team. Every analyst and intern works directly with the partners on live deals; there is no layer of anonymity between you and the transactions.

Role Overview

This program is built to train someone to eventually run acquisitions and operate portfolio companies at the level our current acquisition lead does today. You will be evaluated not on hours logged but on judgment shown — in diligence, in modeling, and in how you think about operating a business you might one day own a piece of.

Requirements

  • Current MBA student, or an MBA completed within the past year
  • 3+ years of full-time professional experience prior to the MBA
  • Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable operating in an unstructured, entrepreneurial environment with limited hand-holding
  • Genuine interest in private equity, M&A, search funds, or independent sponsorship — as an operator, not an advisor

Preferred Experience

  • Private equity
  • M&A or investment banking
  • Venture capital
  • Corporate development
  • Deal execution or transaction experience

A coherent, focused pre-MBA career narrative in one or more of the areas above is strongly preferred.

  • Build financial models and valuation analyses
  • Support due diligence workstreams on live deals
  • Draft investment memoranda
  • Support acquisition negotiations

  • Develop growth strategies for acquired businesses

  • Due diligence
  • Operating portfolio companies
  • Team leadership
  • Capital allocation

Career Progression

MBA Intern → Junior Analyst → Associate → Acquisition Lead → Asset Manager / Independent Sponsor
