Role Description The Membership and Engagement Specialist internship is a hybrid role based in Denver, CO, with some flexibility for work from home. This role focuses on supporting membership outreach, onboarding, and retention by communicating with current and prospective members via email, phone, and in-person events. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with membership inquiries, updating member records, helping coordinate events and programs, and gathering feedback to improve engagement initiatives.
The intern will also support promotional efforts, such as preparing outreach materials, assisting with social media or newsletters, and contributing ideas to enhance member experience. Collaboration with team members on special projects and reporting on membership activity will be part of the regular responsibilities. This position will collaborate closely with the Director of Communications and Marketing as well as Events Coordinator.
Qualifications Strong Analytical Skills to interpret membership data, track engagement metrics, and support decision-making. Effective Communication abilities, strong interpersonal skills, including clear written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders. Customer Service skills to respond to member inquiries, address concerns, and provide a welcoming experience.
Basic Sales and outreach skills to support membership recruitment, follow up on leads, and promote programs. Interest or experience in Training, such as helping prepare materials or guiding members through processes. Organizational skills and attention to detail for managing membership records and coordinating events.
Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities. Interest in international relations, transatlantic cooperation, or regional community building; prior event or nonprofit experience is a plus.
