Music Box Office Usher - Student Assistant

Job Summary:

Ushers for the Music Department Box Office to support specific Music Recital Hall concerts. Assist patrons, including, but not limited to, scanning tickets, providing direction to their seats and building facilities as needed. Must be able to stand for up to 3 hours.

Responsibilities:

Ushers for the Music Department Box Office to support specific Music Recital Hall concerts. Assist patrons, including scanning tickets, providing direction to their seats and building facilities as needed. Must be able to stand for up to 3 hours and lift up to 40 lbs.

Other duties as assigned per the student assistant classification standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
• Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.

Required Qualifications:

• Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
• Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
• International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card

Preferred Qualifications:

• Multilingual, preferably Spanish, is a plus.
• Reliable, dependable, on time, and possess high ethical and confidentiality standards.
• Understand and perform proper ushering etiquette.
• Ability to take initiative in projects of various topics assigned by the Box Office Manager.

Special Conditions:

The applicant must agree and is required to work 10-13 performances/shifts which are 3 hours each. Most of the shifts are from 6:00 PM- 9:00 PM. There are a few 11:00 AM-1 PM shifts available. Dates will be discussed and agreed upon at the beginning of the semester.

The usher may be able to pick-up additional shift(s) if performances are added to the schedule.
