The Korea Society seeks a motivated and detail‑oriented Photography Intern to support the documentation of its public programs, special events, and cultural initiatives. This internship offers hands‑on experience capturing high‑profile events that advance understanding and dialogue between the United States and Korea.
Role Overview
The Photography Intern will assist with photographing live programs—many of which take place during weekday evenings at The Korea Society's headquarters near Grand Central in New York City. The intern will work closely with the Communications and Programs teams to visually document lectures, panel discussions and cultural performances.
Key Responsibilities
- Photograph day/evening programs, including guest speakers, audience engagement, and event atmosphere
- Capture high‑quality images suitable for web, social media, publications, and archival use
- Organize, edit, and deliver photo sets in a timely manner
- Support visual documentation needs for special projects, exhibitions, and institutional initiatives
- Maintain consistent visual style aligned with The Korea Society's branding and communications standards
Qualifications
- Strong interest in event photography, documentary photography, or visual storytelling
- Experience with DSLR or mirrorless cameras is a plus
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working during evening hours
- Professionalism when interacting with speakers, guests, and staff
- Basic photo editing skills (Lightroom, Photoshop, or equivalent) is a plus

Compensation
