Position Summary
Astrion is seeking a Plant Science Intern who will support research activities focused on spaceflight and ground-based plant growth experiments. This position provides hands-on experience in controlled environment agriculture and space crop production technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Plant Science, Horticulture, Biology, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
- Interest in plant growth systems and controlled environment agriculture.
- Ability to follow laboratory procedures and work as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or experience in plant physiology, horticulture, hydroponics, or controlled environment agriculture.
- Experience with data collection and basic scientific research methods.
Responsibilities
- Assist with spaceflight and ground plant growth experiments.
- Support plant cultivation and maintenance in controlled environment systems.
- Perform plant propagation activities and routine crop care.
- Assist with monitoring and optimizing water and nutrient delivery systems.
- Collect, record, and organize experimental data.
- Support laboratory and greenhouse operations as needed.
