The Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC) is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Summer Interns to support our programs and events during an exciting and milestone year for the organization. Established in 1994, AABDC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing Asian American businesses and professionals and recognizing their contributions to the U.S. economy. Among AABDC's signature initiatives, the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award is the organization's flagship program and one of the most respected recognitions of Asian American leadership across industries.
Role Description
As a Program Management Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting major programs and events - like the Asian American Business Roundtable - while working closely with program leaders to coordinate logistics, communications, and day-to-day operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop real-world skills in event management, project coordination, and community engagement within a dynamic nonprofit environment.
Essential Duties
- Support logistics coordination and on-site execution for major programs and events, including the Asian American Business Roundtable, guest coordination, registration, and overall event operations
- Coordinate with designers and vendors to produce event and marketing materials, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely delivery
- Assist with planning and logistics for meetings, small-scale events, and community programs to ensure smooth execution
- Work closely with program teams to track timelines, deliverables, and communications to support efficient and successful program implementation
- Support daily program operations, including data management, database updates, email correspondence, and administrative coordination
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled undergraduate student (Junior year or above) or graduate student
- Available to work on-site in New York City, five days per week, during the internship period
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in event management, nonprofit work, or community engagement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Mandarin proficiency preferred, but not required. Please indicate your language skills in your application.
