Role

As a Research Intern at Nanotrace, you will play a role in supporting projects critical to the development of our nanoparticle technology. Initially, you'll be working with nanoparticles in mammalian cell-based models and antibody-based assays (immunohistochemistry IHC, immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, etc.). Protein engineering experience is a plus.

What We're Looking For (Qualifications)

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in pipetting and preparing accurate dilutions.
  • Must have a solid understanding of synthetic organic chemistry and be capable of conducting common organic reactions and bioconjugations (e.g. NHS-ester labeling, copper-free click chemistry).
  • Familiarity with automated oligonucleotide synthesis is a strong plus.

Research Experience

  • Prior laboratory experience in biochemistry or bioengineering, either in academic or industry settings.
  • Most preferably, the candidate has hands-on experience with small-scale bench chemistry as well.

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and to communicate scientific findings effectively.

Details

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Period of Internship: 1 year or longer (only apply if you can commit to this)
  • Location: Lab based in San Francisco, Dogpatch area
  • Equity: you will be granted an stock option grant which will vest in monthly increments for the period of time you are with us.
  • Stipend: Nanotrace within budget will cover your travel costs (Bart, Muni, Car, etc) to and from our offices.
