Our *Doors Internship Program* is a paid opportunity for students to contribute to and learn from a global leader in manufacturing, design, and innovation. We offer internships in fields ranging from engineering, business, finance, operations, environmental health science, and technology, allowing you to explore a variety of industries such as automotive, home furnishings, bedding, and industrial products.

About The Program:

The *Doors Internship Program* is an immersive experience designed to build your expertise, grow your network, and give you hands-on experience across different functions. You'll work on real-world tasks and/or projects, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and be part of a company that enhances people's lives through innovation in comfort-driven design and manufacturing.

About The Role:

The Engineering team develops and delivers innovative technologies that support product performance, reliability, and customer requirements. Within engineering, sensor technologies play a critical role in enabling accurate data collection, system feedback, and product functionality.

This internship supports engineering efforts related to **sensor development and release**, helping ensure new sensor solutions are tested, documented, and ready for successful deployment.

As a **Sensor Intern**, you will support engineering activities tied to the **release of sensor products or sensor‑integrated systems**. This role provides hands‑on experience working with sensors in a real engineering environment, contributing to testing, validation, documentation, and cross‑functional coordination.

This position is ideal for a student interested in sensors, electronics, systems integration, or applied engineering who wants exposure to product release processes from development through launch.

So, what will you be doing as a Sensor Intern?

  • **Sensor Release Support** – Assist engineering teams with activities required to support sensor release, including readiness checks, documentation, and coordination.
  • **Testing & Validation** – Support sensor testing, data collection, and validation to ensure performance meets specifications.
  • **Data Analysis** – Help analyze sensor output data to identify trends, anomalies, or performance issues.
  • **Documentation & Specifications** – Assist with creating and updating technical documentation, test reports, and release materials.
  • **System Integration Support** – Help support integration of sensors into larger systems, products, or prototypes.
  • **Issue Tracking & Troubleshooting** – Support engineers in tracking issues, investigating root causes, and validating corrective actions.
  • **Cross‑Functional Collaboration** – Work with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and product teams to support a successful sensor release.
  • **Additional duties as assigned.**

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Currently pursuing a **Bachelor's degree in Engineering** (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Mechatronics, or related field).
  • Interest in **sensors, electronics, or system measurement technologies**.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles, testing, or data analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a technical, hands‑on environment.

Things we consider a plus:

  • Coursework or experience with **sensors, instrumentation, or data acquisition systems**.
  • Familiarity with test equipment, diagrams, or technical documentation.
  • Exposure to product development or release processes.
  • Interest in a long‑term engineering or product development career path.
