Social Media Intern

Our mission at the Hollywood Art and Culture Center is to cultivate creativity and the support of the arts in our community through education, innovation, and collaboration. For 50 years, the Center has promoted excellence in the visual and performing arts via contemporary gallery exhibitions, stage performances, documentary films, artist talks, and educational programs that reflect the highest standards of artistry and diversity. This role will support the Marketing & Communications team by creating engaging video and social content that highlights exhibitions, events, artists, and community impact. This is a hands-on opportunity to build a portfolio while gaining real-world experience in arts marketing.

A Day in the Life

This position is a great fit for a dynamic individual who has ideography, photography and social media skills vand wants to expand their exerience.

Videography & Content Creation

  • Film and photograph exhibitions, classes, performances, and special events
  • Edit short-form videos for social media (Reels, Stories, TikToks, etc.)

Social Media Support

  • Help create and schedule social media posts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and others as applicable)
  • Assist with affinity group research
  • Monitor engagement and assist with basic analytics tracking

General Marketing Support

  • Assist with community calendar updates
  • Support marketing projects as needed
  • Help with weekly e-communications
  • Attend staff meetings and creative planning sessions when available

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field
  • Strong interest in arts, culture, and community engagement
  • Basic experience with editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar)
  • Familiarity with Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook content trends
  • Comfortable filming in live environments and working with diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Reliable, creative, and eager to learn

Preferred (but not required)

  • Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Basic photography skills
  • Understanding of nonprofit or arts organizations
