Dispatch Energy is hiring an SWE intern to build internal systems that automate the day-to-day workflows of our Capital Markets, M&A, and Origination teams.

Dispatch Energy is an independent power producer (IPP) focused on distributed generation (DG) across multiple technology verticals. Dispatch develops, finances, owns, and operates DG assets across the U.S., with a portfolio spanning solar, battery energy storage, and fuel cells. The company's operating asset base and pipeline are supported by a diversified capital stack, including equity, debt, and tax equity. Our team's approach emphasizes creative financial structuring, disciplined execution, and long-term asset ownership.
Scope of Responsibilities
- Connect systems and automate handoffs: Build integrations that allow data to move cleanly between databases, contracts, Excel models, and third-party tools. Ensure all data sources and version changes are auditable.
- Clean and tag data for diligence processes: Automate processes to pull in project and financial data (spreadsheets, docs, emails, etc.), standardize it, and classify it correctly. Make it easy to trace any output back to the original source for diligence and investor/tax needs.
- Automate workflows with approvals: Develop agent workflow requirements for core processes and identify gating points for human review, change tracking, and a defensible audit trail for transactions. Create automated workflows that generate investor decks, financial reporting packages, and operating reports using core data sources.
- Track market and regulatory updates: Collect and structure external data from utility sites, rate cases, and policy filings to support market intel and risk monitoring.
- Collaborate with core teams: Work with M&A, Capital Markets, Origination, Development, Construction, Business Operations, and Finance to ensure adoption across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with OpenClaw and Skills Framework, Langchain, Django OpenAI Embedding Framework, Docker, Kubernetes, PyTorch, TensorFlow, common Visual Language Model Frameworks, Manus API, Expected Parrot
- Experience building and shipping production-quality software beyond coursework.
- Ability to translate business workflows into structured system logic.
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Quickbase or similar no-code/low-code database platforms.
- Interest in energy infrastructure, distributed generation
- Familiarity with financial modeling, capital budgeting, or project finance concepts.
Additional Information
- Location: Based out of Dispatch Energy's New York City office.
- In-office schedule: Monday through Thursday in the office, with the option to work remotely on Friday.
- Duration: 10–12 weeks.
- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate.
