Duties/Responsibilities

  • Attend events and provide on-site operational support with guest registration, setup and breakdown (35% of time)
  • Assist with attendee communication and customer service for major events and other events as directed by Major Events Manager (20% of time)
  • Prepare event materials such as agendas, name badges, floor plans, presentations, etc. (20% of time)
  • Help manage event timelines and checklists (15% of time)
  • Other duties as assigned by Major Events Manager (10% of time)

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Major Events Manager at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia at UGA, this part-time student position in events will assist with planning and executing large-scale events. This position offers hands-on experience in event coordination, logistics, vendor communication and on-site event operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification: Applicants that would be mutually beneficial for the position would be currently pursuing a degree in event management, hospitality, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies: A qualified candidate for this position is proactive, professional and has strong organizational and communication skills as well as an attention to detail. Flexibility to work some weekends and nights is desired.
