Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose of Position

Under direct supervision, participates in a temporary position which provides work experience at a level commensurate with educational background in a variety of work modalities. Tasks are designed to develop the skills, technique, and knowledge necessary to function in the delivery and operations of health care services, administration, support, and allied programs.

Examples Of Typical Tasks

Receives experience in the operations and delivery of health care services, including exposure to clinical support, administrative, and operational programs such as nursing services, clerical/administrative functions, office functions, laboratory operations, dietary services, environmental services, central office functions, and technical, professional and scientific disciplines. Assists in the performance of activities and tasks which are applicable to the programs and areas stated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Students currently enrolled in high school or enrolled in an accredited college or university, from incoming freshman through receipt of their undergraduate degree.
  • Students must be at least 16 years of age at the time of appointment.

Special Note

No student may be employed more than half-time during any week when the student is enrolled in classes that are in session. Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.
