SOCIAL MEDIA & ADMISSIONS STUDENT WORKER

Vincennes University Jasper

Position Summary

Vincennes University Jasper is seeking a creative, dependable, and outgoing student to support the Admissions Office and help showcase campus life through social media. This position is ideal for a student who enjoys creating content, connecting with others, and representing VU Jasper in a positive and authentic way.

The Social Media & Admissions Student Worker will help capture the student experience, promote campus events and resources, and provide general support to prospective students, visitors, and the Admissions Office.

Primary Responsibilities:

Social Media and Marketing

  • Assist with creating engaging content for VU Jasper’s social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Take photos and short-form videos of campus activities, events, students, faculty, and facilities.
  • Appear in social media content when comfortable and help recruit other students to participate.
  • Brainstorm content ideas, trends, student-focused features, and ways to highlight campus life.
  • Assist with writing captions and creating simple graphics or videos using Canva or similar platforms.
  • Help maintain a content calendar and organize photos and videos.
  • Follow university branding, privacy, and social media guidelines.
  • Obtain approval before posting or publishing content on behalf of VU Jasper.

Admissions and Campus Support

  • Greet prospective students, families, and campus visitors in a welcoming and professional manner.
  • Assist with admissions events, campus visits, tours, recruitment activities, and community events.
  • Help prepare event materials, information packets, mailings, signage, and promotional items.
  • Answer basic questions and direct students and visitors to the appropriate office or staff member.
  • Assist with general office tasks, including filing, data entry, assembling materials, and organizing supplies.
  • Share an authentic student perspective with prospective students and families.
  • Represent VU Jasper positively both on campus and in the community.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be a currently enrolled Vincennes University student.
  • Friendly, dependable, creative, and comfortable communicating with others.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Interest in photography, video creation, graphic design, marketing, communications, or admissions.
  • Experience with Canva, CapCut, or similar creative tools is helpful but not required.
  • Comfortable working independently and contributing ideas.
  • Able to maintain professionalism and protect confidential student information.
  • Willing to learn and receive feedback.
  • Schedule
  • Hours will be scheduled around the student’s classes and campus responsibilities. Some evening availability may occasionally be requested for special events.
