Supply Chain Intern
Neville Chemical Company is a leading manufacturer of low molecular weight thermoplastic and liquid resins that serve a wide variety of applications in the Coatings, Adhesives, Ink and Rubber industries. Customer satisfaction, innovation, and extensive research have been hallmarks for 100 years. Neville has an opening for a paid Supply Chain Intern based at our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania plant and headquarters.
Objective
The overall objective is to provide the intern with industrial experience supporting procurement, logistics, inventory management, and operational processes by assisting with day-to-day operations and analytical projects. This internship provides hands-on experience in planning, purchasing, inventory control, transportation, and supplier management while developing a strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with inventory monitoring and reconciliation to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Support procurement activities by preparing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and communicating with suppliers.
- Collect, organize, and analyze supply chain data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
- Help maintain accurate inventory, purchasing, and logistics records in ERP or inventory management systems.
- Coordinate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to support timely movement of materials and finished goods.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and order status.
- Prepare reports and presentations related to inventory, purchasing, and supply chain performance.
- Participate in demand forecasting, production planning, and inventory optimization projects.
- Assist with identifying cost-saving initiatives and process improvement opportunities.
- Support cross-functional teams including Operations, Finance, Manufacturing, and Customer Service on supply chain initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and procurement procedures.
- Perform other administrative and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, Finance or related field
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft excel
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose actionable solutions
- Ability to communicate well
- Interpersonal and persuasive skills
- Prioritize workload
- Work with and interpret numbers
- Basic knowledge of supply chain concepts, inventory management, procurement, or logistics
- Previous internship or project experience related to supply chain or operations is a plus
