Tax Intern

CHI Border Inc. · Chicago, IL

  • Internship

About the role

At CHI Border, we specialize in solving complex, multi-year cross-border tax issues for individuals around the globe. We pride ourselves on a culture built around teamwork, cultural awareness, and continuous professional growth. As our firm rapidly expands, we offer a supportive environment where team members can take on real responsibility from day one. Basic tax knowledge is preferred but not required.

Role

The intern will primarily work on individual income tax returns, particularly their international and cross-border components. Routine data input is generally completed by our overseas support team, allowing the intern to focus on more specialized foreign reporting matters. Responsibilities may include reviewing foreign financial information and entering data related to foreign mutual funds and other international assets. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in international taxation, foreign cultures, and languages.

We are not a high-volume tax return preparation firm. Our work often involves reviewing multiple years of a client's tax filings, identifying and correcting foreign reporting issues, and helping individuals resolve complex cross-border tax matters.
