About the role
The Inter-American Development Bank is hiring an undergraduate intern for the Winter 2027 program. This is a paid, full-time consultant position based at our headquarters in Washington, D.C. You will gain professional experience in development work and corporate management while contributing to our technical AI initiatives.
What you'll do
- Collect, clean, organize, and prepare data for machine learning and analytics projects.
- Assist in developing, testing, and documenting AI prototypes and automation solutions.
- Evaluate AI models by analyzing outputs and identifying limitations.
- Research emerging AI methods and tools to support team discussions.
- Prepare technical documentation and presentations for various stakeholders.
What you'll need
- Active enrollment as an undergraduate student in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Engineering.
- Graduation date must be after the internship period.
- Completion of at least the second year of undergraduate studies.
- Fluency in English and a working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese.
- Basic programming skills in Python.
- Citizenship from an IDB member country.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the program.

- Eligibility: This must be your first internship with the IDB Group. You must not have family members currently employed by the IDB or IDB Invest.
