About the role
Summary:
Elberta Valley Ag is seeking Seasonal Laborers to assist in the day-to-day operational duties which may include operating heavy machinery and general maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Upkeep ranch appearance by repairing farm buildings, fences, and other structures.
- Operate farm and heavy equipment such as loaders, harvesters, tractors, skid loader, and trucks.
- Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment.
- Properly and safely care for animals.
- Daily work may include independent tasks and collaborative teamwork.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus.
- Familiar with irrigation processes.
- General knowledge of construction tool use preferred.
- Strong demonstrated communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills. Spanish language ability desired.
- Must be able to work outside in year-round weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 75 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent lifting up to ~50 lbs; extended walking and standing; regular use of tools and machinery; frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing; good vision and communication required; sustained physical labor.
- Outdoor agricultural settings; exposure to heat, cold, wind, sunlight; dust, pollen, chemicals; machinery and vehicles; uneven or elevated surfaces; moderate to loud noise; variable hours including extended or seasonal shifts; PPE required.
