Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) is needed for a facility located in Portland, Maine. This position involves working in a dynamic environment with a variety of patient cases, including pediatric, adult, and critical care. The role requires providing respiratory therapy services across multiple units within the facility, including the newly expanded Surgical ICU and Intermediate Care units.

Job Details

Schedule: Dayshift, 7:00 AM - 7:30 AM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required if working in NICU
• Education modules specific to respiratory therapy required
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a tertiary, teaching hospital, level 1 trauma setting, with experience in NICU/PICU, pediatric emergency departments, adult acute, and critical care units

Preferred Qualifications

• NICU/PICU experience
• Cardiothoracic care
• Team-oriented personality
• Excellent communication skills

Float

Float rotation may be required, including NICU/PICU, emergency departments, and adult critical care units.

Additional Information

The assignment includes working every other weekend and participating in the call rotation, approximately one call shift per month. Reasonable scheduling preferences may be considered, with documented approved time off guaranteed. The position involves providing respiratory therapy services utilizing equipment such as Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30 and V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm.
