Role
Forte Capital Group is seeking an ambitious Fall 2026 intern to work directly with Kevin R. Smith, CMT, CFTe, Managing Director and Portfolio Manager, in the firm's Wall Street office. This is a hands-on opportunity for a driven student seeking meaningful exposure to portfolio management, quantitative investment research, wealth management, and business development. The selected intern will contribute to active projects and gain direct insight into how investment strategies are researched, managed, and communicated within a professional advisory practice.
Responsibilities
- Support research, analysis, portfolio monitoring, performance reporting, and operational work related to a proprietary quantitative investment program
- Research public and private companies, investment themes, industries, and prospective clients
- Assist with portfolio-management and client-service projects
- Maintain accurate prospect, client, and project records within the firm's CRM system
- Participate in supervised outbound business-development efforts
- Help improve internal processes and organize strategic initiatives
- Provide additional analytical and administrative support as needed
Qualifications
- Current college student pursuing finance, economics, business, communications, or a related field
- Genuine interest in investing, financial markets, wealth management, or business development
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Professional, dependable, resourceful, and highly detail-oriented
- Comfortable speaking with professionals and prospective clients by telephone
- Proficient and capable of learning new systems quickly
- Self-motivated and ready to take ownership of meaningful assignments
Terms
This is an in-person Fall 2026 internship requiring availability for two to three full days per week. The intern will work primarily from Forte Capital Group's Wall Street office.
Training and direct mentorship will be provided. This opportunity is best suited for someone who wants substantive experience, meaningful responsibility, and close exposure to the day-to-day work of an experienced portfolio manager.
