About the role
The Workforce and Integration Intern supports the Workforce and Integration Department at the International Rescue Committee. This role provides hands-on experience in employment services, data management, and operational support. You will work closely with employment specialists to assist clients and maintain communication with local employers.
What you'll do
- Work individually with clients to create, update, and review resumes.
- Support the Workforce team with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and database quality assurance.
- Reach out to potential employers to discuss job opportunities for clients.
- Assist in maintaining ongoing communication with employers regarding job openings.
- Prepare paperwork and documents needed for job applications and client profiles.
What you'll need
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Preference is given to candidates who are bilingual or multilingual in Spanish, French, Dari, Pashto, or Haitian Creole.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, or Sociology.
Location & details
- This is an on-site internship based in San Diego, California.
- The term is for Fall 2026.
- This is an unpaid, full-time position.
- Work must be completed during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
