Intern/Co-op Students Position Summary

The Internship/Co-op Program provides hands-on experience across cross functional teams in a manufacturing environment. The intern will support a variety of projects and initiatives while gaining exposure to process improvement, workplace safety, employee training, and operational excellence This position offers the opportunity to develop professional skills, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to meaningful business objectives. Duties may include:

Engineering Intern

• Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Support engineering projects.
• Assist with data collection and analysis
• Participate in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and processes.
• May help develop and update work instructions, layouts, and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on appropriate initiatives.

Safety Intern

• May assist with safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Support incident investigations and corrective action tracking.
• Help maintain safety records, training documentation, and compliance files.
• Participate in safety training and employee awareness initiatives.
• Observe and promote safe work practices throughout the facility.
• Contribute to projects that enhance workplace safety and regulatory compliance.

Human Resources Intern

• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and new hire orientation activities.
• Support employee engagement and communication initiatives.
• Help maintain personnel records while ensuring confidentiality.
• Assist with HR reporting, data entry, and administrative projects.
• Participate in training, development, and employee relations activities.
• Gain exposure to HR processes within a manufacturing environment.

Customer Service

• Provide frontline support by responding to customer inquiries via phone, email, and internal systems.
• Assist with order entry, order tracking, and customer account maintenance.
• Help investigate and resolve customer concerns while ensuring timely follow-up.
• Maintain accurate customer records and documentation in company databases.
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, and Shipping teams to support customer needs.
• Analyze customer feedback and assist with identifying opportunities for service improvement

Marketing Intern

• Assist in developing and creating marketing materials, presentations, and promotional content.
• Support social media, website updates, and digital marketing initiatives.
• Conduct market and competitor research to identify industry trends and opportunities.
• Help coordinate marketing campaigns, events, and employee engagement activities.
• Track and report on marketing metrics and campaign effectiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support branding and communication efforts.

Purchasing Intern

• Assist with purchasing activities, including creating and tracking purchase orders.
• Support supplier communications regarding pricing, delivery schedules, and order status.
• Help maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor information.
• Analyze inventory levels and support replenishment planning activities.
• Assist with supplier performance tracking and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with Operations, Planning, and Finance teams to support procurement processes.

Information Technology (IT) Intern

• Provide technical support to employees for hardware, software, and system-related issues.
• Assist with computer setup, equipment deployment, and system maintenance activities.
• Support user account administration, access management, and troubleshooting efforts.
• Help document IT processes, procedures, and technical solutions.
• Participate in projects involving network, cybersecurity, and technology improvements.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and implement technology solutions that enhance business operations.

Continuous Improvement Intern

• Assist with Continuous Improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
• Collect, analyze, and report operational data to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and waste reduction initiatives throughout the facility.
• Participate in process mapping, root cause analysis, and problem-solving activities.
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain process improvements.
• Help develop standard work instructions, visual management tools, and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in a related field.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in field applications.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team environment.
