Summary
As a Renewables Engineering Intern, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to support projects that help improve the performance, reliability, and sustainability of renewable energy generation facilities. This role provides meaningful, hands-on experience in the power generation industry while contributing to APS's commitment to delivering reliable energy and supporting the communities it serves through clean energy solutions.
Potential Projects and Experiences
- Analyze engineering data and help identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and operational outcomes.
- Contribute to engineering projects focused on improving renewable generation systems and operational performance.
- Participate in site visits to gain firsthand exposure to renewable energy operations.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to support initiatives.
Who We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in engineering.
- Demonstrated achievement and ongoing success in academic studies or training.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others and contribute to team-based projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Interest in renewable energy, sustainability, and power generation.
- Preferred: GPA of 3.0 or higher.
This paid, full-time internship spans 10 weeks during the summer. Interns receive mentorship, professional development, opportunities for site visits, networking and more.
Minimum Requirements
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Must show ongoing achievement in areas of study and training.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3.0 GPA or higher.
Major Accountabilities
- Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs. May assist in preparing business/engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations and studies.
- Assists in research, business documentation, studies or technical reviews. Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarizes results or findings in written reports or oral presentations.
- Utilizes internal resources to learn business/engineering operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments.
- Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments.
- Performs other related duties as required.
