Essential Duties

Assists the Accounting Department with daily financial and administrative activities while gaining practical experience in accounting processes and business operations. Supports accurate financial reporting, recordkeeping, and analysis in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Month-end closing activities, including preparation and reconciliation of supporting schedules.
  • Accounts receivable functions, including customer payment tracking and account reconciliation.
  • Accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, vendor communications, and payment support.
  • Preparing reports and analyses to support other departments and management decision-making.
  • Supporting Cash and Inventory Management functions through data collection, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Assists with maintaining financial records and ensuring accuracy of accounting documentation.
  • Uses the company ERP/MRP system to research transactions, verify data, and prepare reports as needed.
  • Interacts with other company departments to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and support business objectives.
  • Behaves in a safe and professional manner at all times. Maintains a cooperative attitude toward other employees and keeps a mindset that always considers the best long-term interests of the company.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Level

Must be currently enrolled in college as a sophomore or junior in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, with above-average computer proficiency. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and basic accounting principles is preferred.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to have the ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands (including gripping & grasping) and reach with arms, including reaching overhead and outward frequently. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee will frequently walk. The employee must be able to lift and/ or move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision requirements such as color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus are also required.

Work Environment

While in Production areas, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. There is frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to wet and/ or humid conditions and extreme cold or heat, and a risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the production environment is usually loud.
