About the job

DESCRIPTION

Boomerang Theatre Company is seeking a highly organized, resourceful, and collaborative Associate Producer to support our upcoming productions of BRILLIANCE by Lauren Ferebee, directed by Melisa Annis, and LIFEGUARD by Kristen Palmer, directed by Sara Thigpen.

The two new plays will run in rotating repertory at TheaterLab in Manhattan, running February 4–March 13, 2027.

The Associate Producer will work closely with the Artistic Director and creative and production teams to coordinate the many moving pieces of these two productions, helping ensure that artists have the resources, communication, and support they need to do their best work.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Artistic Director in coordinating the planning, preparation, and execution of both productions.
  • Maintain production calendars, schedules, deadlines, and key organizational materials.
  • Facilitate communication among directors, designers, stage management, artists, and producing staff.
  • Assist with production logistics, venue coordination, and artist needs throughout rehearsals and performances.
  • Support marketing, audience engagement, and special events associated with the repertory.
  • Anticipate challenges, identify solutions, and ensure timely follow-through on production priorities.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is interested in theatrical producing, especially non-profit producing.
  • Has exceptional organization and is comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Communicates clearly, professionally, and collaboratively.
  • Takes initiative, exercises sound judgment, and works effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Understands the demands and creative dynamics of producing independent theatre in New York City.
  • Is excited by new plays, artist-centered collaboration, and the unique challenges of producing two shows in rotating repertory.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a theatre professional who enjoys making things happen, solving problems, and helping bring ambitious artistic work to life.
