About the job
The primary goal of this internship is to identify and develop practical new ways to leverage existing AI platforms and the organization’s Ontology. The intern will focus on applied AI innovation—understanding business problems, identifying high-value use cases, configuring and experimenting with existing AI capabilities, and developing proofs of concept that demonstrate how AI could address those needs. The intern will work with stakeholders to move ideas from initial problem statements through use-case definition, prototyping, evaluation, and demonstration. Successful concepts may then be transitioned to appropriate technical teams for further development and implementation. By the end of the internship, the intern should have developed and documented a portfolio of potential AI use cases, demonstrated one or more working concepts or prototypes using existing AI platforms, and provided recommendations for opportunities that warrant further development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Learn the organization’s existing digital and AI capabilities and support existing AI-enabled use cases including scaling across the manufacturing site.
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand current processes, challenges, and opportunities where data analytics and AI can improve efficiency, access to information, decision-making, or user experience.
- Translate business needs and user requirements into clearly defined data analytic solutions and/or AI use cases, including expected outcomes, data requirements, success criteria, and potential limitations.
- Document use cases, requirements, workflows, findings, and recommendations to enable successful transition of promising concepts to appropriate technical teams for further development.
