Airport Electrical Engineering Intern

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a limited-term, full-time electrical engineering intern to work on airport design projects (taxiways, aprons, runways, etc.) based in our Bismarck, ND office starting in Spring/Summer 2027 and ending in Fall 2027. The intern will be responsible for assisting engineers, design technicians, and construction managers with electrical airfield engineering projects in the following areas: Preparing electrical engineering documents Assisting with the analysis, preparation or modification of reports, plans, schedules, studies, and designs for projects Performing electrical design calculations, quantities, and cost estimates Assisting with the preparation of design and construction budgets Designing airport electrical systems such as lighting for runways, taxiways, and aprons Technical research and writing May assist with field inspection, documentation, and survey work Other duties as assigned. A valid driver’s license, the ability to pass background checks to gain access to airport sites, and frequent travel to construction project sites 80%-100% of the time will be required.

Successful candidates must have completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited college or university by their start date.
