Acclaimed as the most beloved and successful Jewish community event in the Bay Area, the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival is the oldest and largest Jewish Film Festival in the world. The SFJFF hosts year-round screenings in San Francisco and a three-week Festival in July/August in San Francisco, Berkeley, San Rafael and Palo Alto, attracting more than 30,000 ticket buyers. Interns would join its small but very active and busy arts exhibition organization, with an excellent staff boasting a wide range of expertise.

Position Summary

Internships are available in production, programming, marketing and development; however, interns will work across disciplines, gaining experience in all of these areas. Interns are expected to perform a variety of tasks, ranging from administrative tasks (light filing, limited data entry) to writing, development, program research, assisting with the festival and special events/screenings, maintaining web updates and more.

Dates and Hours

Internships typically run from the end of May through the beginning of August; 8-10 hours per week; three units of academic credit.

Requirements

The festival itself is a fast-paced, exciting environment that will require a commitment to some evenings and weekends. Good writing skills, discretion and initiative are essential. HTML, Final Cut, Raiser’s Edge, Photoshop, Aperture, MS Office and inDesign skills all a plus, but the organization is also a good place to gain experience with those programs and others.
