About the role

The Part-Time Assistant Softball Coach will support the softball coaching staff in the day-to-day development and operation of the program. This position will assist with team practices as scheduling permits, contribute to individual and team player development, and provide game day support through charting, dugout organization, and other responsibilities assigned by the coaching staff. The ideal candidate will bring a strong knowledge of softball, a commitment to developing student-athletes, and a willingness to contribute wherever needed to support the team and coaching staff. *Core responsibilities include:* Assist the coaching staff with team practices and training sessions as schedule permits.

Support the development of student-athletes through individual and small-group instruction in fundamental and advanced softball skills. Assist with the implementation of drills and practice plans established by the coaching staff. Provide instruction, feedback, and reinforcement consistent with the program’s coaching philosophy and player development goals.

Complete and/or assist with game-day charts, including offensive, defensive, pitching, or other performance information requested by the coaching staff. Assist with game-day dugout management, organization, communication, and overall team operations. Help prepare student-athletes for competition through pregame activities, warm-ups, and game preparation.

Provide observations and feedback to the coaching staff regarding individual and team performance. Assist with additional program responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach. Maintain a positive, professional environment that supports teamwork, accountability, competitive excellence, and the overall student-athlete experience.

Represent the softball program and institution professionally when interacting with student-athletes, coaches, staff, opponents, officials, and other members of the community. Adhere to all applicable institutional, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Ability to effectively teach, coach, and communicate with collegiate student-athletes.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching staff and support the established philosophy and direction of the program. Dependability, professionalism, and flexibility to work a schedule based on availability and team needs.

Ability to attend select practices, games, and team activities as mutually agreed upon with the Head Coach. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required 1+ years of athletic coaching experience and/or softball playing experience required A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered. Requirements: Successful completion of a pre-employment background check *Child Protection Clearances (Act 153)* Schedule: This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule.
