Launch Your Career in a Professional Repertory Season
Impact Arts’ Summer Stock Austin College Internships puts undergrad and grad students inside a professional repertory season run with Impact Arts and Texas Performing Arts (Professional Theatre on UT Austin Campus). Build credits and portfolio material while assisting pros across directing/choreography, design/tech, management, film/media, and arts admin as productions move from concept to curtain across partner shops and stages. Eligible for academic credit; some roles offer stipends.

AUDIO
Mentored by the Sound Designer/A1
implement, mix, and maintain the show’s sound and take care of microphones and tracking
- Load-in: speakers, RF, patching, playback, microphone and element set-up
- Program cues/scenes; troubleshoot during tech
- Run as assistant A1 or A2; daily checks and maintenance; strike
Good fit if: hands-on audio tech with A1/A2 experience preferred
We are looking for folks with experience in theatre and/or film. Stipends are commensurate with experience and position. Some internships are unpaid and others range from $300-$1500 for an approximate 6-week commitment. Some positions have full or partial remote options.
All internships are mentored by working professionals (designers, department heads, or supervisors).

Costume Shop (June): Dripping Springs, Texas
Scenic Shop: Texas Performing Arts Scene Shop (UT Austin campus)
All other June work: Remote (via Zoom, Slack, Google Drive)
Rehearsal Facility (Late June): To Be Determined – Greater Austin Area
Tech & Performances: McCullough Theatre @ UT Austin
Compensation, Credit & Eligibility
Paid & Unpaid Internships: Unpaid roles are mentored, learning-focused entry points for candidates with little or no experience.
Stipends (if paid): $300–$1,500 based on experience, aptitude, and role scope. Amount is finalized after interviews and stated in the offer letter.
College Credit: Available through Austin Community College (ACC), or we’ll support credit through your home institution with forms, evaluations, and time logs.
Terms: Schedule, expectations, and stipend disbursement are outlined in the offer. Stipends are fixed amounts, not hourly wages.
