About the job
About the Role The Belmont Collaborative for Health Systems Innovation works at the intersection of healthcare, research, and education — partnering with faculty, fellows, and health system leaders on projects that are actually shaping how care gets delivered. We're looking for a work-study student to join our team as a Student Assistant, supporting the day-to-day work of the department while getting a front-row seat to the research, events, and initiatives that make up the Collaborative's mission. This is a great fit for a student who wants real exposure to health systems work, hands-on experience with communications and project support, and the chance to build relationships with faculty and fellows in the field — not just another admin job.
What You'll Do
- Communications & content: Help manage our social media and LinkedIn presence, update the website, and contribute to marketing materials and newsletters.
- Research & initiative support: Assist with organizing research initiatives, fundraising efforts, and special projects as they come up.
- People & events: Serve as a friendly point of contact for faculty, fellows, and students, and help coordinate on-campus events (including some after-hours support when needed).
- Data & operations: Keep our data organized in Excel and support general office operations — mailings, copies, campus errands, and the like.
- Special projects: Take on new initiatives as they arise — we welcome students who want to bring ideas to the table.
What You'll Gain
- Direct exposure to health systems innovation work and the people driving it
- Experience in communications, marketing, and project coordination you can point to on a resume
- Mentorship and relationship-building with department faculty and fellows
- A flexible, supportive team environment that works around your academic schedule
Hours: 7–10 hours/week, with flexibility around your class schedule. Some remote work possible depending on the project.
Location: Primarily in the HSS Department offices at the Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine, with occasional remote work for specific projects as approved.
