Below Market Rent Program Compliance Specialist ($34.52)

Position Summary:

The Below Market Rent (BMR) Program Compliance Specialist oversees day-to-day compliance tasks for an affordable housing portfolio while providing on-site teams with expert guidance on BMR program requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Below Market Rent (BMR) unit certifications, from initial move-in (approving or denying eligibility) to timely annual recertifications.
• Manage all resident recertification communications, including reminders and documentation collection. Maintain comprehensive records and update the Affordable Automation Application.
• Collaborate with on-site teams and legal counsel on compliance issues, including lease terminations. Support internal partners with lease renewals and offers.
• Submit reporting per city requirements and share updates with key stakeholders.

Additional Skills:

• 1 year experience with below market rents and/or affordable housing programs preferred.
• 1 year experience in property management preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce, Realpage/Onesite and Google Suite preferred.
• General understanding of the Affordable Housing Regulatory Agreements and requirements.
• Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) preferred.

Preferred Education:

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
