About the role

About Blue Bikes Blue Bikes is New Orleans’ bikeshare program, dedicated to providing healthy, accessible, and equitable transportation for residents and visitors. We are expanding our service area into the Broadmoor, Hoffman Triangle and Central City neighborhoods. As we expand our service area, we’re recruiting Blue Bikes Ambassadors to serve as liaisons between the program and the neighborhoods where we operate.

Ambassadors will: Share Blue Bikes information with neighbors, businesses, and community groups. Gather feedback from residents to improve the Blue Bikes experience. Represent Blue Bikes at local events, pop-ups, and outreach activities.

Encourage sign-ups for Blue Bikes memberships to foster a culture of bikeshare in New Orleans. Ambassador Timeline and

Responsibilities Community Engagement (September/October ‘26–February ‘27) Lead one community outreach activity per month to promote Blue Bikes. Examples include: Giving a presentation about Blue Bikes at a local church, school, or community center. Hosting a Blue Bikes demo day at a neighborhood market or park.

Organizing a group ride to showcase Blue Bikes’ accessibility and fun. Collect feedback from residents about their biking needs and challenges. Monthly Meet-Ups (October ‘26–February ‘27) Attend one in-person meet-up per month to: Share updates and best practices with fellow Ambassadors.

Collaborate on planning events and outreach strategies. Build skills in community engagement and advocacy. Ambassador Project (TBD) Work with fellow Ambassadors to identify and address a community need related to bikeshare.

Examples: Partnering with local organizations to host a bike safety workshop. Creating a neighborhood bike map highlighting Blue Bikes stations and safe routes. Promotion & Membership Growth (September ‘26–February ‘27) Encourage neighbors, colleagues, and community members to sign up for Blue Bikes memberships.

Share success stories and testimonials from your outreach efforts.

Qualifications We’re looking for community leaders who: 8-10 hours of community outreach hours per month. Live, work, or worship in Broadmoor, Hoffman Triangle or Central City neighborhoods. Are passionate about biking, sustainability, and equitable transportation.

Have strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse audiences. Are reliable, self-motivated, and excited to represent Blue Bikes at events. Want to shape the future of bikeshare in New Orleans by gathering feedback and driving improvements.

No prior experience is required. Training will be provided in late September/early October 2026! Comfort with social media is a major bonus, but not a requirement.

Compensation Stipend: Receive $200/month for your time and contributions. Free Blue Bikes membership: Unlimited 60-minute rides/day on Blue Bikes
