About the Firm:
FreeRange Concepts (FRC) is a hospitality management company responsible for high-profile eat-ertainment concepts. These venues include: The Rustic and Mutts Canine Cantina in Dallas, and Bowl & Barrel in Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston. Its newest venture, The General Public, is an upscale gastropub which is located in Houston and San Antonio. FRC is a young $30mm company that has seen tremendous success in its first three years and is projected to double in size over the next 24-36 months.
About the Position:
The firm is seeking skilled and qualified talent buying interns. The candidates must be passionate and knowledgeable about music and the entertainment industry. Candidates pursuing an education in business and or music are strongly preferred. Candidates will work directly with the Entertainment Director to research and book acts at The Rustic. Candidates will assist with day-to-day tasks in the booking local to regional music acts. Candidates' main focus will be at The Rustic, however, there might be opportunity to participate with the other concepts. This is a college credited internship; if approved through the university.
Expected Duties include:
- Extensive research on local to regional acts seeking talent that best fits The Rustic brand, heavy participation in brainstorming for potential acts; the digitalization of editing and booking of the music calendar; assisting with allocating weekly talent budget; candidate will gain a better understand of venue, manager and band relationships
- Shadow booking and marketing department staff, offer input into projects, attend meetings, and may be asked to assist other departments
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma with some course work at an accredited 4-year college or university
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have a strong interest in the music and event industry
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and experience with Word Press is a huge plus!
- Creative, detail-oriented and extremely organized
- Some late evenings and weekends may be required
