Overview Families for an affordable San Francisco the coordinated canvassing campaign that is Scott Wiener for Congress is seeking motivated, reliable interns to join our campaign team in San Francisco. This hands-on internship is an introduction to how a modern political campaign operates, from the office to the doorstep. It is especially well suited to college and high school students who want to get their foot in the door to their first full-time political job, expand their networks in San Francisco politics, and explore campaign-related fields.

About Scott & the Campaign Scott Wiener is a California State Senator representing San Francisco and is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in California's 11th Congressional District. In the State Senate, Scott has been a leading voice on housing affordability, healthcare access, transportation, climate action, and LGBTQ and immigrant rights.

Schedule & Time Commitment This internship is up to 10 hours per week, with a minimum commitment of 5 hours per week. Interns should expect a mix of office and field work, including: Office hours: administrative support, data entry, research, sign making, and general campaign operations Door knocking: canvassing neighborhoods to talk with voters directly Phone banking: calling constituents to engage undecided voters and build support Farmers markets: tabling and engaging with the community at local markets Event staffing: helping set up, run, and break down campaign events Interns may work fewer than 10 hours by scaling back proportionally across these areas, but must maintain the 5-hour weekly minimum.

What You'll Do Support day-to-day campaign operations from our Castro Headquarters office Engage directly with voters through canvassing, phone banking, and tabling at public events Help staff campaign events, rallies, and community gatherings Gain an inside look at field organizing, voter outreach, and campaign strategy What We're Looking For Professional, punctual, and reliable, with the ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule Genuine interest in politics, government, or how campaigns work Comfortable both behind a desk and out in the field talking with voters Strong communicator, team player, and willing to learn No prior campaign experience is required; it is a bonus. Training and mentorship will be provided Reliable transportation to the office, canvassing locations, and event locations around San Francisco is required. Transportation assistance will be provided through reimbursed travel costs and rides from full-time staff members

Compensation Interns are paid $19.61 per hour for all hours worked, up to a maximum of 10 hours per week. Interns may work more than 10 hours on a volunteer basis.
