About the Worker’s Compensation Board of Indiana (WCB):
The Worker’s Compensation Board provides efficient dispute resolution for injured workers and employers by administering both formal adjudication and informal dispute resolution services. We also serve the public by answering inquiries regarding the Indiana Worker's Compensation system and collecting statistical information regarding workplace injuries in Indiana.
Role Overview:
This position serves as a Case Coordinator within the Worker's Compensation system to facilitate the resolution of disputed claims. The case coordinator deals directly with unrepresented (pro-se) parties to these claims. The applicant will identify issues within cases and guide the pro-se claimants through the process. Ultimately, the case coordinator seeks to resolve claims prior to reaching the formal hearing process. However, if a hearing is deemed necessary, the case coordinator will work to prepare the pro-se claimant. The case coordinator is typically assigned to particular Hearing Members and court administrators and works to gather information and communicate with parties when it would be inappropriate for the Hearing Member and court administrator to do so.
