Are you studying Civil Engineering and looking to apply your classroom learning in a real-world setting? Our Civil Engineering Internship is open to students in Bachelor’s or Master’s programs who will have completed their foundational coursework by summer 2027. Join our team to gain hands-on experience in civil site design and contribute to the success of real projects within a collaborative consulting firm.

The internship program is based in our Seattle office, with many opportunities to visit our active project sites throughout the summer. You will receive mentorship from engineers at every level, helping you strengthen your technical skills and learn how projects are delivered in practice.

This is a paid, temporary position, with the potential to be welcomed onto the team as a full-time civil engineer after graduation, determined by performance during the internship.

Civil Engineering Intern Essential Responsibilities

  • Integrate into the civil engineering team, actively participating in report writing, calculations, and project site visits
  • Primarily utilize Civil 3D as the main design tool while also gaining insights through the creation of manual "hand-drawn" designs to better comprehend the 3D model outputs
  • Engage in stormwater analysis and design, beginning with area take-offs and pipe layout and progressing to more intricate system design and stormwater mitigation tasks

Candidate Qualifications and Attributes

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering, with foundational coursework completed by summer 2027
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D is preferred
  • Willingness and capability to learn other engineering software and emerging technologies
  • Open to developing upon professional communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate well with others
  • Capable of creative problem-solving

Compensation and Perks

  • $26 to $30 per hour (DOE)
