Duties and Essential Functions

Clinical interns at AACS Atlanta are expected to perform the following functions:

• Oversee documentation in the clinical section of each client's chart and conduct quality assurance reviews for deficiencies.
• Attend and participate in clinical team meetings.
• Maintain a caseload of 10 to 15 clients.
• Complete clinical assessments and treatment plans for all assigned clients.
• Initiate discharge planning upon client admission and update discharge plans on a weekly basis.
• Facilitate comprehensive evaluations and diagnostic summaries for assigned clients.
• Facilitate multidisciplinary treatment planning and updates for assigned clients.
• Conduct individual sessions with all assigned clients.
• Lead group counseling, education sessions, and meetings per the program schedule.
• Provide family and conjoint therapy as specified in individual client treatment plans.
• Coordinate treatment objectives for assigned clients with relevant staff members.
• Document clinical progress notes in each client’s electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement task groups.
• Participate in in-service training, individual and group supervision meetings, and staff interface meetings.
• Communicate with staff via the Communication Log and client records to support the client’s treatment plan.
• Ensure that client records for the assigned caseload are comprehensive, complete, accurate, and meet all licensing standards.
