Communications Internship

Dallas County Health and Human Services offers internship opportunities for graduate, undergraduate and high-school students of all skill levels interested in learning more about public health operations and careers. The students will observe how theoretical concepts are applied on a day-to-day basis and will put the skills they learn in the classroom to work. Many of our interns have little or no experience working in the public health field.

We place interns from many academic disciplines. Although most of our interns study Public Health, Health Sciences, and other related majors, internships are often available for students with other concentrations. We currently have opportunities in the following areas: Chronic Disease Communications Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program Employee Services Environmental Health Epidemiology/Communicable Disease *(Interns must be 18 years old and MPH students only)* Finance Health Administration Immunizations Public Health Laboratory *(Interns must be 18 years old)* Ryan White Sexual Health Outreach and HIV Tuberculosis Outreach *(Interns must be 18 years old)* Eligibility for all interns: Must be at least 15 years of age *(unless stated otherwise)* or have completed his/her freshman year of high school; Must successfully complete a background check; Must sign all applicable documents related to their internship at Dallas County; and Must comply with the Dallas County Employee Code of Conduct and all program-specific policies for the duration of the internship. *Click here to download our Internship Program flyer.* *Disclosure: Currently we must have a contractual agreement with the school before we can accept any interns.* We currently have an affiliation agreement with the following schools: A.T.
