Position Summary The Financial Services Forum is seeking a motivated Communications Intern to support the Forum’s communications and digital efforts. This Washington, DC-based internship offers hands-on experience working with a fast-paced team on issues at the intersection of financial services, public policy, and the U.S. economy. This position will support a range of projects, including social media, website content, media monitoring, reporting, and written materials.

The intern will work closely with the Forum’s communications team and collaborate with colleagues across policy, research, and government relations.

Key Responsibilities Support the development of content for the Forum’s social media channels, website, and other digital platforms. Assist with drafting and editing communications materials, including social media copy, fact sheets, website content, and other external-facing materials. Monitor media coverage, social media, congressional hearings, regulatory developments, and financial services industry news relevant to the Forum and its members.

Help track, analyze, and report on social media, website, and other digital communications performance. Conduct research and identify data, news, and other information that can support communications content and campaigns. Maintain research resources, contact lists, media lists, and other communications and organizational materials.

Assist with communications projects surrounding major policy developments, events, research, and other Forum priorities. Provide support on special projects as needed.

Qualifications Successful candidates will: Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. Demonstrate a strong interest in communications, public affairs, digital media, public policy, or financial services. Possess strong writing, editing, research, and communication skills.

Be organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple assignments and deadlines. Exercise professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment. Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with social media, digital publishing, analytics, design, and/or artificial intelligence tools is a plus. What You’ll Gain Exposure to policymakers, industry leaders, and major public policy issues. A firsthand understanding of how communications, policy, government relations, and research work together to advance an organization’s priorities.

Opportunities to attend congressional hearings, briefings, industry events, and other events relevant to the Forum’s work.

Experience developing written analysis, digital content, and communications materials for senior audiences. A deeper understanding of financial services policy, advocacy, media, and strategic communications. Hands-on experience supporting social media, digital communications, analytics, and external-facing content.

Meaningful project ownership and mentorship from experienced professionals.
