Overview
First Citizens Bank’s Oil and Gas Finance Group lends money to the Exploration & Production, Midstream and Compression segments of the Energy Value Chain. The group has financed over $1 billion in the past few years and has ~$2 billion in commitments.
The group is hiring a Corporate Banking Intern – Summer Analyst to support their financial analysis efforts. The summer internship program is designed to provide an opportunity for students to apply classroom knowledge in a corporate environment while delivering tangible value to the organization, as well as gaining valuable work experience. Interns will be assigned to live transactions and will be exposed to leading industry players, lenders, and investors, gaining insight into transaction processes and deal execution.

Responsibilities
- Financial modeling in excel of E&P, midstream, and compression companies.
- Conducting thorough due diligence on projects, including company and industry analyses, as well as reviewing engineering reports.
- Preparation of internal credit memorandums.
- Preparation of marketing materials for potential clients.
- Work as part of a Deal Team on live transactions, engaged in many aspects of credit underwriting and portfolio management, financial analysis, credit memo preparation.
- Participate in internal credit approval meetings and client/customer calls, as appropriate.
- Attend professional development and informational sessions, networking and community service events.
- A capstone project and presentation designed to improve a specific process or solve a problem that will be presented at the close of the internship.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience
- Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution (during the time of the summer program)
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the program
- 3.0 GPA or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of college experience (rising senior)
- Major in a quantitative field including engineering, finance, accounting or economics
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Strong interest in oil and gas
Additional Information
The base pay for this position is generally between $20.57/hr and $24.20/hr. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
