Digital Marketing & Communications Intern

July 2026: Fall Semester position has been filled. This position will open for Spring semester in October. Hours: 10-12 hours/week Hybrid schedule, approximately half hours in office and half remote One position filled each semester $15.85 per hour Seeking Athens' biggest fans to apply to promote the city to visitors.

Visit Athens is the official tourism marketing organization for Athens-Clarke County and is searching for a Digital Marketing & Communications intern. This multi-faceted internship will provide real-world experience with B2C use of social media and email marketing, as well as creating owned content such as blog articles. All blog articles and press releases authored will include the student's byline-- great opportunity to develop a professional portfolio!

Our Interns value the experience they gain while working with Visit Athens. For example, one of our Summer 2023 interns shared her experience with Grady Interviews, and our Spring 2023 intern is now a Grady graduate contributing to the Visit Athens account for a PR agency-of-record. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in any press visits scheduled during the internship period.

Visit Athens markets Athens as a destination for leisure travel, meetings & conventions. We play a key role in economic development, as we draw visitor dollars to a wide segment of local businesses. All majors considered, Sophomore-Senior year. Detail-oriented, professionalism, and reliability a must. Exceptional writing skills.
