Digital Transformation & Technology Software Engineer Intern, Summer 2027

Overview The Chick-fil-A Digital Transformation and Technology (DTT) Software Engineer Intern will have the opportunity to build differentiating technology to serve Operators, Team Members, Customers, and Staff. Interns will serve on dev-ops teams in an agile environment, honing skills in key languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, and more. Software Engineer Interns make real contributions to projects with business impact.

They build features, fix bugs, design solutions, solve problems, and troubleshoot issues. This program gives Interns the opportunity to leverage software engineering skills in an enterprise environment The DTT Internship is committed to developing participants personally and professionally. All participants are matched with an Early Talent Coach who serves as their go-to resource for support, work direction, and input.

Interns learn professionalism, interviewing skills, and curated technical topics. Interns meet with Chick-fil-A executives, Digital Transformation and Technology leadership, and DTT project leads to learn more about Chick-fil-A culture and key work in progress that is transformational to the business. This program gives participants the opportunity to leverage software engineering, design, and debugging skills in a real-life working environment.

Participants get to experience first-hand Chick-fil-A's corporate culture and participate in a real DTT project underway in the business. Participants are presented with leadership opportunities while gaining key skills and perspective necessary for a successful career at Chick-fil-A, Inc., or in the broader technology industry. The dates of this internship are May 17, 2027, through July 30, 2027. Those selected are expected to be able to attend the internship in its entirety. Project Examples from Previous Internships: Enabling our customers to skip the line by building mobile-thru functionality in the Chick-fil-A App UI design and implementation of new features for an internal web application Building and deploying APIs to Kubernetes Managing and distributing machine learning models to business partners Improving performance of ETL data processes

Responsibilities Learn about a variety of Chick-fil-A systems and technologies Influence new and innovative ways to solve current business and technical challenges Build features, fix bugs, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions for key initiatives Develop and maintain software applications, features, or services under the guidance of an Early Talent Coach Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following team standards Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback into solutions Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software bugs Collaborate with engineers and Technical Product Owners to deliver solutions Create and execute unit tests to ensure software quality and reliability Learn and apply software engineering best practices, tools, and frameworks Contribute to technical documentation, diagrams, and knowledge-sharing resources Participate in agile ceremonies such as standup’s, sprint planning, and retrospectives

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities) Actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, or similar, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher Rising senior (undergraduate) returning to school in Fall 2027, with 1-2 semesters of school remaining Relevant technical coursework Strong knowledge of one programming language such as Java, Python, Go, Javascript, or other Excellent written and verbal communication skills Problem-solving and teamwork abilities Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities) Basic understanding of databases, API’s, or UI frameworks Version control experience (Git) Coursework in data structures and algorithms

Experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

Experience with Cursor or Claude On-campus leadership or volunteer experience Chick-fil-A Restaurant experience Travel
