About the job
The Editorial & Production Coordinator is the Director’s right hand and the person the whole team can count on. This role keeps projects organized, files where they belong, and deadlines on track, so the Director can focus on teaching and leading. It’s a volunteer position and a great way in for anyone who wants to learn editing and production from the inside while growing toward a leadership role. More than any technical skill, this role runs on reliability. When you say something will be done, it gets done, and when life happens, you speak up early.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Track the status of every project in production, from raw footage to final post
- Keep shared folders, footage, and project files organized, labeled, and easy to find
- Send reminders and friendly follow ups so the team hits its deadlines
- Help schedule trainings and production sessions, and take notes when they happen
- Support shoots and live events by capturing footage, helping with setup, and keeping things running smoothly
- Take on smaller editing tasks like clips, captions, and social cuts as your skills grow
- Flag delays or issues to the Director early, before they become problems
- Help keep things moving when the Director is unavailable
YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF YOU
- Show up when you say you will, every time
- Love keeping things organized and notice when something is slipping through the cracks
- Are curious about editing and production and want to learn from someone experienced (no experience required)
- Communicate early and honestly when plans change
- Want a path toward leadership and are ready to earn trust one finished task at a time
WHAT YOU GET
- Hands on mentorship from the Director of Editorial & Production, with real feedback on your work
- Free access to Collective production and editing trainings
- Production credits on Collective videos, shows, and published content
- Portfolio ready work you can show future clients, schools, or employers
- A clear path to grow into larger editing, production, and leadership roles as you prove yourself
- Letters of recommendation and references for volunteers in good standing
- Connections with performers, writers, creators, and local partners across the region
- A creative community that shows up for you the way you show up for it
CURRENT PROJECTS
Widow’s Wishes: An award-winning dark dramedy series we’re actively in production on. It follows three women married to narcissistic men, a string of accidental murders, and the therapist tangled up in it all. We’re in casting and filming now.
Blinding Light: A scripted project where we’re finalizing the writing and moving into casting and production next. The Coordinator would help carry it from pre-production through to the finish.
Sketches: On top of our larger projects, we regularly write, shoot, and edit original sketches, so there’s a steady flow of active production and post work happening week to week.
