About the job
Description: The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to providing artists across all disciplines with space, tools, and a cooperative forum for the development of individual practice. We are a catalyst for cultural growth, stimulating new interactions between artists, creative communities, and the public. Apply now for a Studio Program Internship, working at EFA Studio Program for two days weekly throughout this Spring or Summer 2027.
This internship is available to current undergraduate and graduate students (age 21 or over) interested in the visual arts and art administration. Primary tasks include administrative work, artist assistantship, gallery operations, exhibition planning, social media, and event support. Successful candidates will be amiable, adaptable, professional, social, and confident.
Interns should be comfortable working as a member of a team—working well with direction while feeling confident to provide their own insights. Along with handling the administrative tasks of the program, interns will consistently be working directly with contemporary artists. About EFA Studio Program: EFA Studio Program maintains 95 artist studios of varying size and configuration in the EFA Center, providing artists the rare opportunity to work in a professional arts community inside Manhattan and in close proximity to the city’s primary gallery districts.
EFA facilitates interaction with dealers, collectors and curators to enhance career development for member-artists. Unique among studio programs in New York City, EFA is one of the few remaining arts organizations providing long-term workspace in Manhattan. A complete listing of our current member artists can be found here.
EFA is committed to creating a diverse environment and is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetic, disability, age, or veteran status. To Apply: Email a cover letter, resume, and 3 references (Name, email, phone number) to alexandra@efanyc.org.
Please indicate if you are applying for spring, summer or want to be considered for both.
