About the job

At Teradyne, our Cooperative Education and Internship program is designed to deliver meaningful, fast paced and real-life work experiences that are relevant to your career and academic goals. Our program offers practical work experience in a business environment, with the opportunity to contribute and add value to the organization.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our Innovation Lab group. In this role, you will work hands-on as a part of a team to design, simulate, prototype, and characterize RF and microwave hardware used in advanced instrumentation.

You will be involved with the design, build, test, and refinement of next-generation mm-wave instrumentation. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, operate in an active lab environment, and present technical findings to practicing engineers.

Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will:

  • Evaluate RF, microwave, and mm-wave hardware, including transmission lines, waveguide components, interconnects, antennas, and related passive structures.
  • Develop electrical schematics, circuit models, PCB layouts, and prototype hardware using appropriate engineering tools.
  • Conduct RF measurements using equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and power meters.
  • Assemble, troubleshoot, characterize, RF and microwave prototypes.
  • Develop test setups and laboratory automation programs for measurement, data collection, and analysis.
  • Analyze measured and simulated data, document results, and present technical findings to engineering teams.
  • Work with mechanical, manufacturing, and other electrical engineers to address packaging, interconnect, fabrication, and system-integration requirements.

This position is 40 hours per week in North Reading (January-April).
